5 LOOKS FOR PLUS SIZE WOMEN
By @Maria.Palida
María Ospina is 25 years old and a costume designer. But in addition to her personal consulting work, she models and is finishing up a fashion and style workshop specializing in plus-size women.
Maria's passion for fashion stems from an ancestral source: she inherited a love of clothing from her family's professions. It has always felt natural to her. She doesn't define herself with a single word, but with a concept: self-love . For Maria, this is where a woman is formed: in the ability to build and love herself, beyond taboos, expectations, or imposed paradigms. She sees women as more than just an optical reflection of what society sees: women as catalysts for self-construction and self-definition through clothing and above collective stereotypes.
Today Maria selected five looks from our PLUS line for different occasions:
LOOK 1
Feminine and casual: perfect for a day at university or work.
The shirt tied at the waist helps to highlight the figure, and the skirt stylizes and lengthens the legs.
For those who prefer something more subtle, tucking the shirt into the skirt also helps to define the waist.
LOOK 2
Formal version of the first look.
The same skirt is worn, but paired with a more structured blouse. This blouse features maximalist touches to balance the body's proportions: the shoulders are emphasized to compensate for the hips.
Maria adds red heels for color and large but linear accessories so as not to compete with the outfit.
LOOK 3
Ideal for a formal daytime event.
The light but vibrant colors make it a look full of energy.
The pencil skirt defines the figure and is balanced by the color of the blouse, which matches the print.
LOOK 4
For cold days.
Inspired by silhouettes and tones typical of autumn/winter. Here María explores her rocker side: she takes risks, but without sacrificing comfort.
LOOK 5
The riskiest.
A mix of clothing universes to achieve an urban or streetwear style.
Color accents create focal points within the look: in this case, red is the protagonist.
