BEHIND THE SCENES WITH OUR FAVORITE DREAMERS AND EXECUTIVES
One of our favorite fashion experts, Beatriz Arango, bases her work on teaching us how to make fashion an expression that goes beyond just clothing. Beatriz shared a bit about her lifestyle, her perspective on fashion, and left us with several important insights for everyday life.

WHEN DID YOU START, WHO WERE YOUR ROLE MODELS OR WHO DID YOU ASK FOR ADVICE?
My interest in fashion began because I'm the only girl among five children, and my mother was very particular about my clothes. We had them custom-made, and we had a seamstress who always knew how to bring our ideas to life. My passion became more formalized when I started working at a newspaper as a trends editor. It wasn't just about dressing well or embellishing my clothes anymore; it was about recreating and sharing a passion I'd always had.
WHAT ATTRIBUTES SHOULD FASHION HIGHLIGHT IN A WOMAN?
Although it may sound cliché, fashion should highlight a woman's inner self—how she feels, who she believes she is, and what she wants to project. She needs to know herself well, her role, and what she wants to communicate to others.
DO YOU CONSIDER FAST FASHION A WAY FOR ANY WOMAN TO HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE MORE EASILY?
Of course, because one thing I'm sure of is that experiencing fashion is easy, practical, and fun. When a woman starts to recognize trends and understands her own style, fast fashion allows her to enter that world at a more reasonable price and with greater speed.
“Love and accept yourself, highlight the good, put away that magnifying glass with which you look at your flaws and emphasize your attributes.”
WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE FOR A WOMAN WHEN IT COMES TO DRESSING?
She should feel happy; her clothes should make her smile. A woman should know which part of her body she wants to highlight. She should find the part of her body she considers fantastic.
WHERE DO YOU SEE FASHION IN 5 YEARS?
I envision fashion as a more conscious form of consumption, where local talent is sought out, more personalized, and where I co-create garments with my preferred brands.
I also hope that it will have greater development in terms of environmental sustainability, and that this aspect will not have so many economic limitations.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?
It is defined by tranquility, being grateful, and doing what I like and being able to transmit it to other women.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST FEAR OF A WOMAN LIKE BEATRIZ ARANGO?
Losing my loved ones, no longer having the hug of the people I love every day.
